great places for dogs outside on the deck! if your dog doesn't do well w big crowds and lots of dogs stay home!

This place is above and beyond dog friendly! They're super accommodating and have large tables that can easily fit a large dog underneath. They gave a giant bowl of water and a our server gave our doberman, Ell, lots of pets and loves. Would recommend!!

  • Pat

When we were served drinks, our pup was given a bowl of water. when our meal was served he got a biscuit. I can't say enough about how sweet the staff was!

We had a great experience with our pup. Sat at a high table on the deck with a nice umbrella. Nice view, great food, friendly staff. They have nice big dog bowls for ice water. Would recommend.

We visited the Porthole for lunch and our waitress immediately brought a water bowl for Winston upon us seating down. The picnic tables provide good shade as do the umbrellas.

On the wharf, the huge deck gives a great view of all the activity going on in the harbor. They love dogs. We saw more tables with dogs than tables without dogs. We celebrated our 50th anniversary dinner there, which was a Sunday. Service was prompt and courteous. Wait staff came and visited with the dogs. Water and a water dish was provided for the dogs. Staff made sure the water dish stayed full. We went about 3 pm for a late lunch (early dinner) and there was no wait. Plenty of food and drink choices. Great special - two 1 1/2 lbs lobster, corn, potatoes, roll, drawn butter. Highly recommend.

This place is so dog friendly! We sat outside on the deck/pier overlooking the water. Very accommodating to our boy, Toby- brought him a bucket of water and a few of the wait staff HAD to meet him. The food is exceptional here also. We both had seafood and it was fresh and delicious. Wish we lived closer- The Porthole would be one of our usual spots. Can't say enough about this place- 5 star experience!

Translatium translator 9 2 0. Very dog friendly and many dogs on the deck.

Visited here our last night in the area. Loved the huge outside deck, music, food, and our server being great with our dogs. Was a great experience overall, very pet friendly and felt welcome with the dogs in tow.

  • Ria

Patio was great. Loved the water views. No wait for a table. Food came fairly quickly. Staff was friendly to our dog. But food was about average. Our waiter didn't know beers so he wasn't able to recommend one. I ordered wine. They give you plastic cup for a wine.

On a warm and sunny August afternoon, the staff was especially accommodating by letting us sit with our Bernese Mountain Dog at a picnic table in the shade that's normally part of the bar area. They treated him like a king: a BIG bowl of water, and.. a complimentary plate of chicken fingers (which they gave to US of course to feed to Cooper).

Well, you can't have more fun than that if you're a dog.

The food was fine, if not really outstanding, the kitchen was glacially slow. The drinks were priced reasonably.

We'd definitely go back.. because they treated our dog so great.

Went here on a busy summer weekday. 20 minute wait but was worth it. Both the food and the service were very good. The waiter brought our puppy a bowl of water and refilled it a few times without having to ask. We sat on the deck overlooking the wharf. Our puppy loved looking at the water below. Would definitely eat there again

  • Jen

We went 8/17/18 around 1:30 and had to wait 45 minutes. But staff was friendly and food was good. Our dog is timid so it was a bit busy for her but she had a big bowl of water.

  • Christina

The Porthole has a big deck right on the water with picnic tables and high tops. Staff was super friendly and couldn't wait to give our dog a bowl of water and treat! Breakfast was delicious, seafood very fresh, and fast service. We even went here for a drink one night while waiting for a table to open up at Boone's next door

  • Jess

This place has a huge patio that had lots of other dogs, so our dog loved it. The staff was super friendly and brought a water dish for him. The food was great and they had a large beer selection. Definitely recommend!

  • Richard

What a great stop.. had no problems lobster dinner was wonderful and took both of our Irish wolfhounds..

  • Stephanie

We went for breakfast on a drizzly Saturday morning at 830am. The deck had plenty of tables and the waitresses loved on our puppy the whole time! They brought him a water bowl and offered him some bacon. The human breakfast food was also good. Accessibility wise, the ramp to get to the deck is difficult to get up even for a fit wheelchair user. The bathrooms are accessible - but note that the paper towel and soap dispensers are very high (not ADA compliant).

We visited last weekend with our Bernese Mountain Dog and LOVED this spot! Their breakfast was one of the best meals we had all weekend - try the Casco Bay Omelette, you won't be disappointed. The deck was perfect in the morning with a gorgeous view of the water and perfect little tables with a good place to tie our dog. The staff was wonderful, and even brought our dog a dish full of ice water and some treats. There was plenty of shade, and both patrons and staff were very friendly. We visit from Connecticut often, and will definitely be stopping in here again!

  • Manon

The Porthole was a wonderful reason to get the highway from a long trip in the car. Very dog friendly, they offered water bowls, great touch.

  • Nikki

They had a nice big deck and put us at the back side so the dogs were comfortable and not surrounded by people. They brought us a big bowl of water. The staff was very dog friendly as there were three people from the staff that came and pet and loved on our dogs. The food and beer was good. The waitress knew about the beer and was able to explain the beer from the local area. Nachos, burger, fried shrimp and lobster Mac n cheese were ordered by us and our teen boys. Everything was good tasting
